The Honourable Judith Guichon, Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia recognized outstanding British Columbia wines, travelling to 11 Okanagan wineries in September.
Wines – which must be made from 100 per cent British Columbian-grown grapes and produced in province to be eligible – are submitted for blind judging by a panel of wine industry professionals. This year, 486 wines from 132 wineries were considered by a panel of nine judges.
Mission Hill Winery in West Kelowna hosted a lunch and a tour of its winemaking facilities before a tour during which the 2017 Lieutenant Governor’s Awards of Excellence in British Columbia Wines were presented to:
